In the same way, some minimal promoters containing only the TATA-Box signal and the 5'UTR region were designed as "core promoter" pieces. Different synthetic promoters were then assembled using these pieces and their expression levels were assessed via agroinfiltration of Nicotiana benthamiana leaves, using luciferase as reporter.
