POSITION: Professor of Cardiovascular Research at University of Gothenburg, chair of Dept of Molecular and Clinical Medicine, Institute of Medicine, University of Gothenburg, and part-time physician at Clinical Chemistry, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden

RESEARCH: My main long-term interest has been to understand the underlying mechanisms that lead to, and consequences of, lipid accumulation in the liver, arterial wall and heart, with the goal of translating this knowledge into effective treatment. My research program is translational and involves both in vitro and in vivo studies, including pathophysiological studies and mouse models, and kinetic studies in carefully phenotyped human volunteers.
