In this assay, we performed a stable transformation in Nicotiana benthamiana plants, over a WT genetic background. 7 plants over the 13 regenerated and tested as PCR positive plants were producer plants, and their sex pheromone production levels are here reported. The production of the non-producer plants are not reported here, due to the absence of production. In this study, as mentioned in the others short reports, the positive plants were also producing other specific volatiles when analyzed by GCMS, like hexadecanol and hexadecanyl acetate, which were not detected in the analyzed plants of SxP v1 (v1.0 or v1.2). This results should be further analyzed in the future to determine if this secondary production could be explained by the different configuration of the genes compared to the old SxPv1.
