Study: _S_P1_TransgenicStableSxPv2 Short Name: P1_TransgenicStableSxPv2 Title: Generation of Sexy Plant version 2: transgenic plants with the moth sex pheromones biosynthetic pathway genes regulated by synthetic promotors. Description: The purpose of this study is to generate transgenic stable lines of Nicotiana benthamiana plants ready to express the moth sex pheromone biosynthetic pathway in a regulable way. The moth sex pheromones biosynthetic pathway genes are regulated by synthetic promotors, so in a basal state, the plants are not producing pheromones and they gain in biomass. Different approaches were taken. One of them is to activate the pathway by the transient expression in trans configuration of the activator dCasEV, and the specific guide (those plants, named Non Guided Pathway, NGP). Another one is to express in stable not only the pathway but also the guide, and to add by transient expression the dCasEV (those plants named Guided Pathway, GP). Another strategy is the generation of the stable lines with the pathway and the dCasEV system, so only the guide should be required for expression (those plants, named EV Non Guided Pathway, EV_NGP).
